The beautiful game of soccer is a sport that demands a variety of physical and mental qualities. To perform well on the pitch, players need to be fit, understand how to read the game during the run of play, be able to react, and make decisions quickly. Small group training provides an environment that can help players take their soccer game to the next level.
One of the most significant advantages of small group training is the competitive environment it provides. When training with a small group, players are forced to compete and push themselves harder than they would in a one-on-one setting or 11 versus 11 game. This competition helps players improve their skills, fitness, and competitive nature while providing the environment necessary to push themselves.
Another advantage of small group training is that it allows players multiple touches on the ball at game speed. Training in small groups encourages players to work together attacking, defending, and learning how to communicate effectively during the run of play. This helps players develop a better understanding of how to work with teammates and improve their ability to play as a team.
Small group training is cost-effective. Parents are splitting the cost of the coach’s time, making it more affordable for everyone.
Small group training also offers unlimited training options. Players get a more well-rounded training experience and improve in all game areas. It provides a fun competitive environment for players to improve their first touch, ball skills, and decision-making under pressure.

At each clinic, Paul learned a different skill and that was no different with this academy. Brian and Shawn focused on different keeper tasks and skills and were very helpful and encouraging with everyone.
The ratio of player to coach was great! Lots of time for individual attention and there was even additional training times offered after the academy ended. This was a great program and Paul is looking forward to continuing his relationship with them next year."

"Two years ago the Penfield Rangers Soccer Club employed Brian Elniski as the goalkeeper coach for our program. This past year Brian added Shawn Beldue to work with him. The results have been terrific. The improvement in the players who have participated in the training has been outstanding. As a result, we are building a pipeline of kids who enjoy playing the goalkeeper position because they have had more exposure to the correct way to play in that role. Because of this, there will likely be a larger number of players to are both interested in being full-time keepers when they are old enough, and who enjoy playing the position. Most important...The feedback from the players and their parents is that kids have fun during the training sessions. It's a win-win for our club and the players!"
